Annual mass communications and journalism media trip a success

The average individual attending school, often time does not have the opportunity to experience the great possibilities, of meeting and greeting a vast population of mass medium industrial leaders. The week of Nov. 12 -16 marked the 26th Annual Media Field Study Trip to New York City, which was held by the Department of Mass Communications and Journalism of NSU.

That is a question asked by seniors across campus, which recently and suddenly saw their student accounts decrease when the accounts were debited to cover graduation fees. In particular, Mia Artson, a candidate for commencement in December, said "I was disturbed," after she recalled the moment when she learned the $130.

On Tuesday Oct. 14 around 5:15 pm, I walked into the conference room of the Spartan Suites building to attend a pizza social that started 4:00 pm. Did I say pizza social? Yes, I did say pizza social. This means lots to eat, drink and people to mingle with.

College closings rare, but could rise in downturn

For 15 years, Cascade College in Portland, Ore., struggled to find the fuels that any college needs: students to pay tuition, and donors to help build an endowment. Then came the global economic meltdown, and suddenly that struggle became an impossibility.
